SINGER

Listening to Josette Bushell-Mingo singing “You’re nothing but a dirty, dirty old man” is a transformative experience. Most people know Josette as a award-winning director and actress.¬†Josette¬†was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award in 2000 for Best Actress in a Musical. In 2001, she founded a black-led arts festival called PUSH at the Young Vic. In 2006 she was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire. But… if you’ve never herd her and the band “Hustle” live, you should!

Hustle’s music is rooted in funk, soul and jazz grooves. They’d take a classic Stevie Wonder, Ccurtis Mayfeild or Nina Simone and shake up the style – a soul number becomes funkier, a funk more soulful and jazz becomes a deeper blue…

Hustle:
Josette Bushell Mingo: Vocals
Magnus Karlsson: Piano
Marcus Bouquelon : Drums
Lauri Antila: Double Bass
